8/11/23: Online - Neurodivergent Somatics: A model for ND affirming care that supports both clients and the therapists who work with them 10am-3:00pm MT/12pm-5:00pm ET :: Prerequisite Required

In this 4 hour (+ one hour break) virtual training, we will go deeper into how to effectively explore anti-ableist somatic approaches in your collaborative work with Neurodivergent (continued focus on Autism and ADH) clients. We will also explore how to apply this same model in support of you in your role and self-regulation as a therapist, counselor, or social worker.

Neurodivergent Somatics is a Neurodivergent anti-ableist somatic model created by Nyck Walsh which includes three principles: Pleasure/Neutrality, Global Permission, and Client as Self Expert.

The first two hours will focus on applying this model in your work with your clients, followed by a one hour lunch/snack/resourcing/rest break. The second two hours will focus on applying this model to you personally in the seat as therapist/counselor/social worker.

This training will include: lecture, sensory delight!, break out rooms, group discussion, and writing prompts. Limited to 20 participants, all neurotypes welcome! Please bring your curiosity and questions as we explore this exciting and oh-so necessary work as helping professionals and the work of being human.
